We have reached the halfway mark of the school year. So relieved yet alarmed at the same time. Free from CCA and SL duties now. I doubt I have anymore contributions to the school unless I am the parade commander for CJ's NDP. On that note, I forgot to meet the respective teacher about it yesterday :x .
Anyway, the semester ended officially with Sports Carnival yesterday. It was a bittersweet one and really memorable with the delays due to bad weather. Thankfully it went smoothly once it commenced. I was really anticipating to play football one last time for Patrick house as the goalkeeper. I was supposed to be the substitute keeper but ended up as the main keeper as the main goalkeeper attended a seminar by Nick Vujicic in the same morning zzz. Advanced to the finals against Joseph house as anticipated after winning all group matches. It was still goalless after full-time and the winner had to be decided by a penalty shootout. Oh God. The stake of winning the match lies in my hands (no pun intended). I have never felt so much pressure this year to perform well in sports. Not even during A divs hahaha. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on our side or rather we were not fated to win and loss by 1 point. Furthermore, Joseph house was crowned the overall champion for Sports Carnival 2014. They won us by a narrow margin (less than 5 points if I'm not wrong) and we were grief-stricken. Nevertheless, I'm still proud of how we dominated 4 of the sports namely Netball, Ultimate Frisbee, Captain's Ball and Floorball (1st after 2 years of 2nd and 3rd !!!)

The day ended well with a short meetup with the SJI mats after so long not hanging out with them due to my hectic schedule in Term 2. It was not just another of our meetups but this one felt significant as one of them, Amirul, has obtained his driving license and sent us home after that. It's so unreal. Weren't we just hanging out in SJI canteen, breaking into the gymnastics hall, playing soccer at the hockey pitch like a few days ago? Ahh, the good old days which can never be relived again. Ok let's not reminisce about the past and be forward-looking. I shall leave you with this confession (not by me) which resonates with my thoughts on my time remaining in CJ. God bless.
