My platoon mates are mostly a fun bunch to be with and definitely made confinement bearable. We may all have diverse backgrounds and education qualifications but it's amazing how we can put aside our differences and work as a platoon. It wasn't much of a problem for me to get along with the outspoken mats in my platoon. In fact, I get along better with them rather than the reserved jc mats in my platoon haha. I guess being fluent in spoken Malay was a major factor that helped me to get along with my platoon mates. When else will I get to experience interacting with mats who are very easygoing in life yet having the resilience to work hard in life as well. I guess what struck me the most was how much of an influence we can have on one another. On the first 3 days, there were like 3 people who pray regularly by themselves. From the 5th day onwards, we could pray in a congregation regularly. God is great. I'll surely miss my platoon mates once we go on a split pathway as some will stay for their Basic Rescue Training while majority will be crossing over to Civil Defence Academy for our respective Firefighter Course and Section Commander Course.
All praises to God for leading me to this path which has made me learn more about myself and observe His mercy simultaneously. With His will, there will be more bonds forged and unforgettable memories to be made as a trainee albeit a challenging 23-week course looming. It's going to be worth it.
